    The studio

    Built on complementary strengths.

Two founders, one integrated studio, one mission: technology that understands people. We build in Nairobi and partner with clients around the world.

    Who we are

An engineering studio with design built in.

Norah Labs is an AI and full-stack engineering studio based in Nairobi, Kenya, that builds production AI agents, web and mobile platforms and cloud infrastructure, with in-house design and communications. The studio was founded in 2021 by John Alexander Kamau.

    Why "Norah Labs"?

The name "Norah" is inspired by the Menorah, a symbol of light and illumination. Just as light brings clarity to darkness, we aim to bring clarity to the place where technology meets people.

Technology should clarify human experience, not complicate it. Every system we architect and every interface we design is in service of that.

    Engineering first. Craft always.

AI and full-stack engineering is the core of what we do. Design, motion and communications sit inside the same team and inform the work from day one.

    Why this combination works.

Most studios are strong in one discipline. We were set up to be strong in several, together.

    • Technical depth + human insight

We don't just build what's possible. We build what people actually need, combining engineering excellence with an understanding of behavior.

    • End-to-end capability

From AI models to deployment pipelines to user interfaces, we handle the full stack. No handoffs, no miscommunication.

    • Strategy + execution

We think like founders and execute like engineers, whether it's a startup MVP or an enterprise transformation.
